This week I started reading a collection of stories by Lord Dunsany, who is fantastic. I knew that Lovecraft was heavily inspired by Lord Dunsany, but I didn’t realize he practically plagiarized some of Lord Dunsany’s stories. I also realize now how much of an impact Lord Dunsany had on Le Guin. The Gods of Pegāna is, of course, great, but his short stories The Kith of the Elf-folk and Blagdaross brought tears to my eyes. ❦
